Off-line signature recognition using parameterized Hough transform

چکیده

This article describes a method of an off-line signature recognition by using parameterize Hough transform. From human nature, signatures are performed very fast by the person, and hence have a lot of straight-line segments within them. The faster that a person signs their name, the more straight lines will be present in their signature. To detect the straight lines, the Hough transform is applied. The extracted straight lines are repesented in term of parameterized Hough space as unique characteristic features to represent the signature. In the experiment, the Backpropagation neural network is used as a tool to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The data set consists of 250 signature images, taken from 50 persons. For each person, four samples were used for training and one for testing. The experimental results reveal the recognition rate 90 percent.
